Snape's Quill- Chapter 2

A Little Note...

I understand that I said I was going to update this story every week. (Well, I said I'd try my best).
However, sometimes, I might post the next chapter way too early or way too late. Today, I am going to post it early because I have thought of it.

CHAPTER 2

Albus was stunned. He had heard his parents mention the term once or twice, and from the way Rose had exploded like that (which was very unlike her) he realised that it was a bad word.
He looked at Luca- and saw that he was as astounded as he was about what had just happened.
He then turned to Rose, and saw that she was bright red, and still holding her wand.
"What... on...Earth...was that all about?" Luca questioned Rose with obvious confusion on his face.
"Mudblood," Rose shivered a bit as she said the word, "is a name for someone whose Muggle-Born.
Luca was still as confused as ever.
"Which is...?"
Rose sighed.
"It means someone, who is a witch or wizard, who is born to two non-magical parents.
"Like me?" asked Luca curiously.
"Yep." replied Rose, "My Mother was Muggle-Born. I take it YOU'RE Muggle-Born, Luke?"
"It's Luca," answered Luca, "and yes, I'm Muggle-Born."

Finally, they arrived at Hogsmeade Train Station, where a Half-Giant called Rubeus Hagrid (or Hagrid for short) would row the first years over to Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry.

As soon as they saw Hagrid, they could certainly tell he was Half-Giant.
He had thick, curly, black hair and a matching beard, both of which had patches of grey. He towered above everyone else.
"If he's Half-Giant," though Albus, "what does a pure Giant look like?"
They then heard a booming voice, who they assumed was Hagrid.
"Firs' years, over 'ere!"
So the trio mooched slowly towards the tall professor.
"Ello!" He greeted them with delight. "You mus' be Al!" he smiled, pointing at Albus.
"Yy-yes" stuttered Al nervously.
"Nice to meet 'ya!" He then turned to Rose.
"And tha' means ya mus' be Rosie!" he grinned, now looking at Rose.
"Yes, I am." said Rosie, very matter-of-factly. "Very nice to meet you." she looked worried as Hagrid shook her hand, not realising how hard he was shaking it.
Finally, he looked at Luca.
"Blimey, Al! Whose tha'? Someone ya met on the station?"
"No," said Luca through gritted teeth, "I'm attending Hogwarts. My name's Luca James-Bryant."
"Oh." muttered Hagrid. "Eerrr, 'ello..."
He trailed off, showing obvious dislike of Luca.
"Ummm... I'll go and.... get a boat, then. See you in a minute, guys!"
After he'd gone out of ear shot, Hagrid said "Whatcha bringin' 'im alon' for?" he asked them.
"He's nice." replied Al, "And Rosie protected him from Scorpious Malfoy on the train.
"Oh, Malfoy gotta son now, 'as he?" muttered Hagrid darkly. "Great."
Changing the subject, Rosie looked over towards the boat.
"Shouldn't we get going?" she asked Hagrid, "People are starting to stare and shout."
Hagrid looked as if she had woken him from a deep sleep.
"Oh yeah." he replied. "We betta' get goin'."
So Al and Rosie went to join Luca in the boat he had saved for them, along with a new boy called Jake Harding.
"Firs' years follow me!" cried Hagrid, as they set sail towards Hogwarts School........

J.K Rowling owns all characters, magical terms and objects in this story except from Luca James-Bryant and Jake Harding, who I created myself.
